Natural occurrence of fumonisins B1 and B2 indomestic maize of Taiwan.

บทคัดย่อ

Samples of maize grown in various districts of Taiwan were collected and analysed for the presence of FB₁ and FB₂ using HPLC. Of 110 samples, 49 were found to contain FB₁ (109-1148 mg/kg) and 2 were found to contain FB₂ (222-255mg/kg).  More than 79% of tested samples had FB₁ concentrations less than 100mg/kg, whereas 2.7% (or 3 samples) contained FB₁ at greater than 300 mg/kg.  These results clearly illustrated that domestically produced maize for human consumption is frequently contaminated with FB₁.
