A total of 1387 samples of cereals were collected over the period 1996-1997 from stores of commercial feed mills located in four governorates in Egypt. AFB1 was detected in maize, yellow corn, gluten and soybean meal in 93,32,35 and 3% of samples at mean concentrations of 82,49,49 and 11 mg/kg, respectively. AFB2, G1 and G2 were not detected in any samples (detection limit was 5 mg/kg).
