Nine isolates of Fusarium graminearum, representing both Group 1 and Group 2 and origination from different geographical regions, were investigated for their pathogenicity on wheat ears and ZEA production. Groups 1 and 2 included isolates with higher and lower pathogenicity. ZEA was produced by four isolates in artificially infected wheat grains at concentrations ranging from 203 to 431 mg/kg. Isolates of both groups are capable of ZEA synthesis.
