Fusariotoxins in kernels of winter what cultivars field samples collected during 1993 in Poland.

In the south – estern region of Poland scab of wheat occurs at a much higher rate than in other parts of the country. During harvest in 1993, kernels of 25 winter wheat cultivars were collected. Fusarium graminearum was found in 42% of investigated samples while other fungi appeared less frequently. DON was found in 96% of investigated samples, its acetyl derivatives were found in 48%, mivalenole in 76% and moniliformin in 28% with average concentrations of 104, 16, 97 and 63 mg/kg, respectively. Among the positive samples, the coocurrence of DON and nivalenol was found in 72% of cases, and the co – occurrence of DON and moniliformin, and nivalenol and moniliformin in 24% samples each.
