A simple process was standardised to obtain about 80% clear, white edible – grade product from mould – infested and discoloured sorghum grains. The discoloured grains were suspended in 40% NaCl (sp.gr. 1.25) to separate heavily infested and light weight grains. The sinkers were dried and pearled on an abrasive polisher at 650 rpm for 5 minutes. The pearling treatment removed completely the surface discoloration and aflatoxins.
