Coordinate control of secondary metabolite production and asexual sporulation in Aspergillus nidulans.

A review with 37 references. Recent work with Aspergillus nidulans has provided new insights in to the mechanisms coordination production of sterignatocystin with asexual sporulation. These processes have been shown to be linked through a common need to in activate a heterotrimeric G protein dependent signaling pathway that, when blocking both sporulation and sterigmatocystin biosynthesis.
