Fusarium subglutinans has been identified as a prevailing pathogen of maize ears in Poland in the seasons 1985-1991. About 95-100% of ears with Fusarium ear rot symptoms were infected by this species. Kernels showing Fusarium damage contained moniliformin at an average of 130.9mg/kg.
