The analytical method for the determination of FB1 and B2 in unpolished rice, polished rice and corn soup has been improved. For determination in unpolished rice and polished rice, a-amylase digestion was conducted before the extraction. Recoveries of FB1 and B2 from polished rice spiked at the level of 0.5mg/kg averaged 91% and 94%, respectively. In the determination of fumonisins from corn soup containing guar gum, a-amylase digestion and b-mannosidase digestion were employed before the usual extraction and cleanup. Recoveries of FB1 and B2 from corn soup spiked at the level of 0.5mg/kg averaged 90% and 92%, respectively.
