Mature hard green fruits of guava cvs. Allahabad Safeda, Sardar (L-49) and Lalit were harvested, washed, surface dried and packed in 0.5% ventilated. CFB boxes in six replications having 15 fruits per replication and stored under ambient conditions (18 +3°C; 60-70% RH.).Various storage attributes were studied at successive stages of storage. After critical observation, it has been found that Lalit had a shelf life of 9 days as it exhibited better firmness (2.1 kg/cm2), maximum ‘YI’ value (84.0), and palatable TSS: acid blend enriched in vitamin C (227.33 mg/100 g) with minimum CPLW (8.6%). However, Allahabad Safeda had a short shelf life of 6 days only as it exhibited maximum CPLW, more blemishes, low firmness and high rate of respiration and ethylene production throughout storage period. In addition, it has also been observed that Sardar guava exhibited minimum rate of respiration and ethylene production as compared to Lalit cultivar of guava.
