บทคัดย่อ
Krishi Vigyan Kendra (K.V.K.) is a noble concept developed by Indian Council of Agricultural research (ICAR) which was rest upon a solid base of transfer of technology from laboratory to farmers field with respect to agricultural, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Bee keeping, Mushroom cultivation and allied subjects. This KVK system is an interface mechanism between research system and extension System. The output of the research system needs to be fine tuned to suit the specific agroclimatic situations. At present there are 571 KVKs established in the country for the benefit farmers for effective transfer of technology. The main activities of KVK include On farm testing to indentify the location specific of agricultural technologies under various farming system, frontline demonstrations to establish production potential of various crops and enterprises on the farmers field, training to famers to update their knowledge and skills in modern agricultural technologies and training of extension personal to orient them in the frontier areas of technology development and to work as resource and knowledge centre of agricultural technology for supporting initiatives of public, private and voluntary sector for improving the agricultural economy of the district. KVK is an excellent network for exchange of technology through Integration of research outcomes in training and extension programs and empowerment of farmers to enhance productivity and profitability.
