บทคัดย่อ

Ecophysiological approach in the optimalization of medicinal plant agro-systems.

To establish or improve an efficient medicinal plant production system, the plant population (or chemotype) should have a stable pathway of biosynthesis for the secondary metabolite; cultural practices should be consistent if possible, with current practices, and should take into account ecological and physiological factors affecting metabolite production, and improvements made to optimize production should extend to include postharvest aspects. A recommended scheme of research for secondary metabolite production and an energy (solar and fossil) flow diagram indicating points for optimizing the production of plant and drug are presented. Experience on producing various medicinal species in Hungary is quoted.
