บทคัดย่อ

Genetic resources in tropical fruit and nut crops.

The maintenance and evaluation of tropical fruit and nut germplasm in clonal repositories in Hilo, Hawaii, and elsewhere is surveyed. Breeding aims and approximate number of genotypes preserved are noted for avocado, guava, macadamia, Carica papaya, passion fruit and pineapple. A list of species included in the Hilo repository is given and information on postharvest aspects of papaya breeding is presented.
