บทคัดย่อ

Identifying optimum hydro-thermal process for canola dehulling.

The effect of thermal treatments and m.c. on the breakage of canola seeds was investigated. Samples at 2 moisture levels (6% and 11% w.b) were subjected to heating or cooling treatments at different temp. ranging from -50 deg C to 100 deg C for periods of 10,20 and 40 min. The samples were analysed for breakage, particle size distribution and colour evaluation. m.c. has a substantial effect on the breakage and size distribution of hulls and cotyledons of the broken canola seeds. The breakage was over 37% - 43% for the 6% m.c. samples and 5-11% for the 11% m.c. sample.
