บทคัดย่อ

Growth substances and environment on the development of vegetative storage organs.

Growth regulators and environmental factors affecting the induction and development of storage organs in different plant species are reviewed. The importance of cytokinins and cytokinin-like substances in the inductive (cell division) processes of formation of storage organs of stem, leaf or root origin and significance of carbohydrates in the developmental stages during and after the induction are discussed. The species discussed include potatoes, sweet potatoes, sugarbeet, kohlrabi (Brassica oleracea var. caulorapa), onions, tulips, carrots, radishes, turnips and Dahlia spp.
