บทคัดย่อ

In vitro preservation of Rhododendron during multiplication and rhizogenesis stages.

Rhododendron (cv. Purple Splendour) cultures at the shoot proliferation and rooting stages were stored for 6 or 12 months at 24 deg C, 16 h photoperiod, 70 micro E m-2 s-1; 4 deg , 14 h photoperiod, 30 micro E m-2 s-1; or 4 deg in darkness. Cultures at 3 rooting stages were used viz. root initiation, root emergence and final rooting stage. Root development was best and percentage survival was highest (100%) in cultures stored at the final rooting stage at 4 deg for 6 months in the light. For storage during the shoot proliferation stage, the best results were obtained after 6 or 12 months' storage at 4 deg in the light. Cultures which had been subcultured once and then cultured for 28 days before storage gave the best results.
