บทคัดย่อ

Seeds of ornamental plants and their storage.

Seed dormancy, seed treatments used to break dormancy, the use of priming to improve seed germination and external factors affecting seed germination are discussed. Seed longevity, storage of orthodox seeds and the biochemical changes leading to loss of viability are considered. The temperature requirements for seed germination, the optimum temperature and duration of cold treatment for breaking seed dormancy, and data on seed longevity are presented for a number of herbaceous, bulbous and woody ornamental species.
