บทคัดย่อ

Performance of IITA-developed cassava postharvest technologies.

The technical features of the various pieces of cassava processing equipment are described. These developed technologies were packaged, installed and tested in five villages in Nigeria at different levels of operation. Field performance was assessed in terms of system efficiency and certain socio-economic implications. After one year, the technological package reduced product losses by 54.7% and processing time by 70%. In addition, villagers adopted a Food Exchange Scheme and their quality of life improved as a result of the new technology.
