บทคัดย่อ

Notes on sweet flag (Acorus calamus) and its potency as a medicinal, essential oil and insecticidal plant.

The cultivation, harvesting and postharvest treatment of A. calamus is described. The flour prepared from the rhizome is used as an insecticide, the pounded rhizome is applied to the skin to reduce inflammation and the plant is used fresh or as a hot water extract for the treatment of sore throats. The essential oil is used to flavour alcoholic beverages and also in cosmetics.
