บทคัดย่อ

Mechanical depulping of coffee using the disc-type depulper.

A disc-type prototype coffee depulper which did not employ knife edges was built to study and evaluate performance using Coffea liberica. The mechanical strength of coffee cherries was taken into account in building the machine. An av. of 80.3% of the cherries fed into the depulper were depulped, giving a depulping capacity of 4.89 kg/min in a single pass. Damaged beans were negligible as only a few were broken in each test carried out.
