บทคัดย่อ

Draught animal power used for operating rotary powered machines.

An animal power complex was developed to operate various rotary powered machines such as a loop-type paddy thresher, groundnut decorticator, maize sheller and chaff cutter. A mechanical gear unit driven by a pair of buffaloes increases the speed by 57.5 times. Tests conducted while operating these machines gave encouraging results. The thresher output was found to be 2.38 quintals per h (7 times greater than manual threshing). The groundnut decorticator tested gave an output of 1 quintal per h compared to 0.083 quintals per h when the operation was performed manually. The animal-powered maize sheller gave an output of 1.75 quintals per h compared to 0.35 quintals per h manually. The cost with this unit was Rs 7.15 per quintal compared to Rs 8.39 per quintal for manual beating. The output of a chaff cutter driven by this unit was found to be 8.6 quintals per h compared to manual chaff cutting of 3.8 quintals per h.
