บทคัดย่อ

Abiu - a new fruit with potential for the Northern Territory.

Abiu (Pouteria caimito) produces a bright yellow fruit with a pleasant flavour. The tree is of medium vigour, evergreen and has no photoperiod or rest requirement for flower induction. A 3-year-old tree can yield 10-25 kg of fruits. The physiology, cultivars, agronomy, cultural and fertilizer requirements, control of birds, insect pests and diseases, postharvest requirements and market potential are discussed.
