Tomato fruits (cv. Var Romer VFN) inoculated with Fusarium equiseti, F. chlamydosporum, Geotrichum candidum, Acremonium recifei, Aspergillus flavus and A. niger showed a decline in ascorbic acid content with days of incubation compared with control (uninoculated fruits). The total soluble sugars of the inoculated fruits also showed a reduction with increase in the storage time. However, a slight increase in the total soluble sugars was observed 6 d after inoculation.
