Green ripe fruits of the Capsicum cultivar Magda, harvested in Jan., were washed, dried at ambient temperature, wrapped in (1) PVC film or (2) perforated PVC film, or (3) left unwrapped, and held at 4, 8, 12 or 24 deg C for 16 days. Weight loss and fruit deterioration were determined every 2 days. At 24 deg , fruit deterioration under all treatments started after 8 days and reached 100% on day 16. The lowest FW losses (0.76-1.53%) were observed in fruits with treatments (1) and (2) held at 4, 8 and 12 deg .
