บทคัดย่อ

Mechanization of hazelnut culture.

A 'dossier' is presented which describes results of a survey of mechanized harvesting of hazelnuts in the area of Viterbo, Italy. Labour requirements ranged from 71 - 319h/ha, of which an average 33% related to harvesting. Data relating to the 10 farms studied and a work study of self-propelled machinery (tractors and self-propelled harvesters) are tabulated. Specifications of hazelnut harvesters made in Italy are briefly listed and results of performance tests on 9 machines based on pneumatic conveyors and 4 collectors are presented. Postharvest treatment of hazelnuts is considered (drying, screening, sorting, shelling) and industrial uses of hazelnut shells indicated. An economic analysis of hazelnut harvesting is presented.
