บทคัดย่อ

Maize: a decision support system for management of field corn.

A decision support system was developed to assist county agents, consultants, and farmers with the management of maize. The program includes production and postharvest recommendations. Management recommendations in the production season section are primarily based on several experts' experience and knowledge. A combination of knowledge-based approaches and numerical optimization techniques are used in the postharvest section for identifying and evaluating potential storage sites, stored grain insect diagnosis and control, and optimal bin number and size for high- and low-temp. grain drying. The program is currently being used in the field by crop management association technicians and extension personnel who assist farmers with management decisions.
