บทคัดย่อ

Vegetable production in traditional farming systems in Nigeria.

The current status and future potential of vegetable cultivation in Nigeria are discussed and reviewed. Information is provided on the types of vegetable cultivated (e.g. Amaranthus spp., Celosia argentea, Cucurbita maxima, C. pepo, okras, Capsicum spp. and tomatoes), their distribution, cultural requirements (staking, mulching, fertilizer application, weed control, yield, processing and storage), and interactions (with each other or with field crops) in intercropping trials.
