The incidence of infection by Colletotrichum gloeosporioides [Glomerella cingulata] was 0.5-2% in Udaipur markets during May-Aug. On inoculation, symptoms developed only on wounded fruit and disease severity was highest on ripe fruit. The pathogen produced PMG, PG and Cx enzymes both in vitro and in infected fruit, activity of the enzymes reaching a peak on the 9th day. Disease severity was reduced by pre- or post-inoculation treatments with waxol, mustard oil, ABC (Attapulgite Based Clay) dust and phytoalexin-84.
