This paper describes cassava trade to the EEC for animal feed, pre- and postharvest management, nutrient and physical quality, quality standards and control in the producer and importer countries. Quality control concerns moisture, starch and fibre content; additional tests requested were for aflatoxin, Salmonella, purity, insect infestation, but not hydrocyanic acid. Requirements of feed compounders and problems most frequently encountered are covered and a final short paragraph deals with the potential for improving the marketing of cassava.
