Bacillus licheniformis (isolates B250 and B251) postharvest dip applications effectively controlled anthracnose (caused by Colletotrichum gloeosporioides [Glomerella cingulata]), stem end rot, and in the case of the latter antagonist, soft brown rot (caused by Nattrassia mangiferae) on mangoes in a packhouse in South Africa. Control was comparable to commercial fungicide treatments. A combination of the two isolates was less effective in controlling mango fruit diseases in dip treatments than the antagonists applied on their own.
