บทคัดย่อ

'Crop-Life' does not slow postharvest drying of Fraser fir and eastern red cedar Christmas trees.

The effect of 'Crop-Life', an acrylic polymer that supposedly retards evapotranspiration, was tested on branches collected from Fraser fir (Abies fraseri) and eastern red cedar (Juniperus virginiana) in February 1990 and kept in a controlled environment, and in autumn 1992 on Fraser fir Christmas trees kept outdoors in North Carolina. Crop-Life had no significant effect on xylem water potential of either species.
