Three insecticides and 3 plant oils were formulated at 0.1% with rice bran dust and tested in the laboratory against Callosobruchus chinensis on stored mungbeans [Vigna radiata] and Sitophilus zeamais on stored maize. Based on adult beetle mortalities after exposure for 72 h to the stored products mixed with the dusts at 3%, the decreasing order of effectiveness was pirimiphos-methyl, deltamethrin, derris powder, pine oil, coconut oil and neem oil.
