Feijoa history and improvement.

A review and discussion, with regard to history, climatic needs and winter chilling, cultivars, self-sterility and pollination, propagation by vegetative means and from seeds, world production areas and yields, postharvest handling and uses of fruits, reported diseases and pests, and major problems in improvement (propagation difficulties, self-sterility and limited germplasm).
