บทคัดย่อ

Postharvest practices for small fruit crops. A review and some new ideas.

Plantain is a staple food of the urban and rural peoples of southern Cote d'Ivoire. Despite its importance as a food crop in this country, the plantain sector is currently plagued with problems related to the production and marketing systems which are generally traditional and require improvement. The various problems affecting production, both before harvest (soil and climatic constraints, pests, weeds, diseases etc.) and after harvest (transport, storage etc.) are discussed, together with research needs and possible solutions.
