บทคัดย่อ

Contributions to the study of the action of temperature on maize seed viability.

Germination of seeds of maize cv. Suceava 99 stored at 50 deg C for 0-200 h before germination at 25 deg decreased with increase in time at 50 deg . Protease activity in the seeds reached a maximum during the 1st 12 h, whereas catalase activity decreased after 12-24 h, increased during 36-60 h before decreasing again with time. In seeds stored at 11-17 deg for 14-22 years, germination was 90-93% initially, 60-65% after 14-15 years and 18-20% after 20 years.
