บทคัดย่อ

Present situation and future demand of agricultural mechanization in Vietnam.

The emphasis in Vietnamese agriculture is on increasing rice production in small and medium sized fields, both for local consumption and for export. Trafficability of soils and specific local conditions are important considerations in tractor use. Mechanization is relatively well advanced (35 000-40 000 one- and two-axle tractors in operation), but plans foresee an increase in tractor-cultivated land from 25% to 60%. Demand exists for good quality farm machinery and improved training in its use, and for improved postharvest technology.
