บทคัดย่อ

Studies on postharvest respiration and ethylene production of loquat fruits.

The fruit respiration and ethylene production patterns of 4 loquat cultivars (Daihongpao, Baisha, Jiajiao and Yangdun) were determined. The results showed that respiration and ethylene production gradually declined after harvest, characteristic of non-climacteric fruits. Respiration and ethylene production were significantly inhibited by storage at low temperature (1 deg C), being 1/3 and 1/10, respectively, of the values for fruits stored at 20 deg . Within the temperature range 1-20 deg , the lower the temperature, the lower the respiration rate and ethylene production. These results suggest that loquat fruits are not chilling-sensitive and can be stored at 1 deg .
