บทคัดย่อ

Host status of some Australian-grown cucurbits to Bactrocera tryoni (Froggatt) (Diptera: Tephritidae) under laboratory conditions.

Australian-grown cucumbers, baby squash, pumpkins and zucchini were able to host Bactrocera tryoni under laboratory experimental conditions designed by New Zealand quarantine authorities. 'Blackjack' zucchini were more able to host B. tryoni to pupation than Crystal Salad cucumbers and 'Queensland Blue' pumpkins. 'Green Gem' cucumber, 'Sunburst' baby squash and 'Green Buttons' baby squash were of intermediate susceptibility. Alternate methods of pest risk evaluation are discussed.
