บทคัดย่อ

Status of small rice hullers of Orissa and response of the millers on modernisation of hullers.

A study was conducted to determine the economic status of huller owners in different districts of Orissa, India and their awareness of and reaction to modern trends in rice postharvest technology and byproduct utilization. 300 huller owners of different major paddy growing districts of the state were covered in the programme. Results revealed that about 30% of the huller owners were satisfied with their current rice milling practice and did not want to switch over to modern rice milling machines because of high investment and the levy system that may be imposed on modernised hullers.
