Topics discussed in this review include the postharvest environment - the key for success of biocontrol; from laboratory to large scale testing; enhancement of biocontrol agents; and mode of action of postharvest biocontrol agents (competition for nutrients and space, induction of resistance in the host and direct interactions with pathogen).
