Quality assurance: a total approach.

ABSTRACT

Quality assurance (QA) as a managing and marketing tool has become an integral part of commercial fruit production in a wide range of crops. QA and its relevance to commercial horticulture and postharvest tropical fruit handling is outlined. QA systems are described and the importance of incorporating all facets of the production and distribution chain into a QA programme is emphasized.
