The effect of prochloraz in combination with guazatine on post harvest diseases of mangoes.

ABSTRACT

Combinations of prochloraz with imazalil or guazatine were evaluated for improved control of postharvest diseases affecting mango. Hot water (55 deg C for 2 min) plus prochloraz (81.0 or 40.5 g a.i./100 litres) effectively controlled anthracnose (Colletotrichum gloeosporioides [Glomerella cingulata]) and low inoculum levels of soft brown rot (Nattrassia mangiferae), but did not control high levels of soft brown rot. Imazalil or guazatine gave good control of high inoculum levels of soft brown rot, but when they were combined with prochloraz, the effect of these chemicals was reduced.
