ABSTRACT
Pre-harvest sprays of copper ammonium carbonate (Copper Count N(R)) were as effective as copper oxychloride (Demildex(R)), in controlling anthracnose (Colletotrichum gloeosporioides [Glomerella cingulata]) and soft brown rot (Nattrassia mangiferae) of mangoes. Visible spray residues were significantly lower where copper ammonium carbonate was used instead of copper oxychloride. There were no significant differences, in terms of disease control, between the 170- and 255-g a.i/100 litres rates of copper oxychloride application. Enhanced copper sprays were shown to be no more effective than copper oxychloride applied alone.
