ABSTRACT
The incidence of fungal rot in tomato fruits from vegetable markets and stores was 0.5-19.7% and 81.3% of the total spoilage was due to Fusarium spp. (F. equiseti and F. pallidoroseum), Geotrichum candidum, Didymella lycopersici, Alternaria alternata and Phytophthora nicotianae var. parasitica. A further 8 fungi were isolated but were less frequent or less virulent.
