Preharvest factors influencing postharvest quality of tropical and subtropical fruit.

ABSTRACT

Preharvest factors can influence the rate of fruit development and maturation and affect fruit quality. The effects of fruit environment, rootstock scion relationships, planting design and pruning, pest management, irrigation, use of plant growth regulators and plant nutrition are discussed with examples.
