Cancelling methyl bromide for postharvest use to trigger mixed economic results.

ABSTRACT :

 

The probable economic consequences of an impending ban on the use of methyl bromide as a postharvest fumigant for various crops in California are discussed and it is suggested that the ban could eliminate access to export markets for some products until alternative quarantine treatments are approved.
