บทคัดย่อ

Identification and pathogenicity of fungi on seeds of Lotus spp. in Argentina.

ABSTRACT :

 

A total of 400 seeds of Lotus spp. was evaluated for the presence of alate fungi, in studies conducted in the lab. at 20 plus or minus 3 deg C and LD 12:12, using the filter paper method. Seeds were examined under a microscope 8 d after incubation. The effect on germination was also evaluated. Results showed that fungal species from the genus Fusarium affected germination and development of seedlings (damping-off). Alternaria tenuis [A. alternata], Cladosporium cladosporioides, Drechslera tetramera [Cochliobolus spicifer], Botrytis spp., Curvularia spp. and Epicoccum spp. affected germination. Aspergillus spp. and Penicillium spp. affected seeds during storage. Stemphylium botryosum [Pleospora herbarum], S. loti and Phoma spp. impeded germination, causing seedling death, and on adult plants symptoms were observed on stems and leaves.
