Notes on the bio-pathology and techniques of storage-transport of fruits. Plum.

ABSTRACT :

 

Notes are given on the maturation, harvesting and common deformities of plum observed after harvest. The most important diseases are caused by Monilinia laxa, M. fructigena, Botrytis cinerea, Penicillium expansum and Rhizopus stolonifer, while other deformities include internal decomposition, splitting and damage caused by cold and freezing. The opt. conditions for the storage and transport of fruits are described.
