ABSTRACT :
A field experiment at Parbhani, Maharashtra in the kharif [monsoon] season of 1989/90 compared agronomic packages for groundnut production devised by ICRISAT (P1) and the Maharashtra State Department of Agriculture (P2). The tabulated agronomic practices included seedbed preparation, fertilizers, sowing methods, weeding, plant protection, harvesting and post-harvest treatments. The DM accumulation, pod DM, haulm, leaf area, and pod yields/ha at harvest were greater under the P1 package of practices compared with P2. In general, cv. ICGS 11, ICGS-21 and ICGS-44 recorded significantly higher values for the above traits than cv. SB XI.
