Observations on inheritance of male sterility in apricot.

ABSTRACT :

 

Nine different crosses with 378 trees were scored for male sterility. Crosses between selections A90-132, K31-110 and K210-35 produced progeny which segregated as 3 male fertile : 1 male sterile (MS). Crosses between these selections and a different parent did not produce any MS progeny. These data suggested that A90-132, K31-110 and K210-35 are heterozygous for a recessive MS gene (Msms).
