บทคัดย่อ

Quarantine disinfection of 'Hass' avocados against Bactrocera tryoni (Diptera: Tephritidae) with a hot fungicide dip followed by cold storage.

ABSTRACT :

 

'Hass' avocados were infested artificially with immature life stages of Bactrocera tryoni dipped for 3 min in 500 p.p.m. benomyl at 46 deg C, allowed to dry, and stored at 1.0 plus or minus 0.2 deg C. Dose-mortality data from infested fruit held in cold storage for up to 7 days showed that 3rd-instar larvae were the most tolerant to treatment. None of >200 000 3rd-instar larvae infesting 'Hass' avocados survived to pupation after hot fungicide dip and storage at 1 deg C for 15.63 days.
